Logistics

In addition to the ability to deliver solutions and components, well-organised logistics is also key to ensuring project success. In complex projects, the ability to deliver products just in time (JIT availability) in order to avoid delaying final completion is essential. In addition to availability, other aspects such as the order process, inventory management, transportation and handling are also very important. These aspects are explained in more detail below.

Availability & JIT deliveries

Infraconcepts has years of experience in creating logistic models for various customers. For example, Infraconcepts delivers products like HDPE duct, fibre optic cable, handholes, break-out assemblies, etc. on a contractual basis to various operators’ turn-key process contractors on the basis of a rolling forecast. This has demonstrably led to a reduction in costs. These logistical challenges have resulted in the following improvements:

  • Availability of materials for the construction of networks and customer connections
  • Consistently reliable delivery of materials based on fixed delivery lead times
  • Reduction of the total chain value by reducing stocking points
  • Registration and reporting of item movements at customer level

Inventory management for standard items

In addition to managing inventory for customers and/or projects, Infraconcepts also uses a professional system to manage its stocks for daily deliveries. Infraconcepts works with minimum inventory levels per item in accordance with min-max plans. Consequently, our system indicates daily which products need to be reordered based on sales. This approach allows us to guarantee very short delivery times for our stock products.

Ordering process

Orders can be placed with us by telephone, by fax and digitally (by email or web-based) via our customer service department. Infraconcepts can be reached on working days between the hours of 8:30 and 17:00. Orders are confirmed within 24 hours. If the order is received before 12.00 a.m., standard materials that are available from stock are delivered on the next working day in the Netherlands, excluding the Wadden Islands (fulfilment ratio of 98.5%).

Handling & Transportation

Infraconcepts works with selected carriers. Pallets are collected from our warehouse in Breda on a daily basis. This service is provided by Wanrooy Transport in Oosterhout. Packages are collected daily by DHL for subsequent delivery. Heavy loads or loads that need to be delivered by a crane-equipped truck (reels of fibre optic cable) are contracted to Soetens Transport in Goirle. All our transportation partners operate tracking & tracing systems so that consignments can be tracked.

Warehouse

Infraconcepts has operated a dedicated warehouse in Breda since 2008. The warehouse is located next to Infraconcepts’ office on Takkebijsters road in Breda. We hold more than 4000 items in stock in our warehouse. In addition, we also have a covered storage area where our stock of HDPE duct reels and fibre optic cable reels is stored.
